change attorney while doing LC in BEC

does anyone know if your LC is in the backlog, just response the 45 days letter, and old lawyer is left the firm and the firm has assigned a new lawyer to me, should we report the backlog about attorney change? I search the DOL backlog faq, "they said you have to do so by update g28 form", but I just talked with my new lawyer, she said, we do not have to it, b/s even the old lawyer is gone, the certified letter will still goes to firm, plus my boss will also get an copy of certify letter. I am getting confused, is my lawyer right? please help,
