1. align your stuff NICELY and LOGICALLY;
2. 6-8 references (should be easy to get.must be good. otherwise dump it without hesitation. remember, quantity is not as important as QUALITY);
3. spend most of your time at your pettition letter (address issues ALWAYS with EVIDENCE. it must be SUPER good and you can never pay too much time on it. in the end, you should feel completely relieved after reading the letter and smile and be happy and be proud. of course then, io won't be able to find any excuse to deny it).
