Two questions about Canada Lading, please help!!!

want to short land canada in the beginning of sep, then back to us. have two questions:
1. do i have to rent a car? is it possible to drive my own car and not cause any trouble?
2. for proof of funds, what do i need to prepare? can i just use my bank statement?
