????????????if you lost job, how's 485 still valid?

Thanks. I heard some people NIW I140 approved, 485 pendng. then left and wait for green card outside USA. Do I have to physicaly present here in usa when they approve my 485? I already applied advance parole. Want to go back china for an interview this july. If it is good offer, I might stay there. Will that affect my green card case?
