Two companies apply GC? Xiaobaitu, please help!

I was working in company A back in 2002. They sponsored my GC application. Unfortunately, my LC is still pending at this moment.(LC filed in 7/02) Now I am working in company B. They are willing to sponsor my visa. Company A is still willing to help me get GC. Here are my questions:

1. Is it still possible to get GC from company A? They just submitted the 45-day notice letter. If yes, how soon?

2. Can I also submit a LC application from company B at this moment?
