passport renewed and 485 pending question

Hi folks:

My passport will be expried by the end of July and I just got it renewed. Now the question is : should i inform CIS about my passport update or simply wait for RFE. Called my lawyer and his assistant told me that I don't need to provide the info now and ask me to wait for RFE. Any suggestion? Thanks.
