1-94 expiration date 09/2007

I hold a H1 B visa, when I came back to the States, the border officer wrote the expiration date of 09/2007, but my H1B expiration is 09/2008 and my passport expires 03/2008. Do I need leave the States to get a new visa to come back before 09/2007? Thank you
