You may switch to F-1 in 2-3 months and get your OPT. But you have to stay in F-1 at least 1-year to apply for H-1 after OPT.

I once got RFE from INS (Texas) for my H-1b application. They required my Degree, Transcripts and Proof docs showing that I stay in F-1 more than 1-year.
