What you said is generally not true. Allmost no industrial job is tenure or tenure track. I do not think there is a huge difference between an academic job and an industrial job in terms of immigration. If an officer denies an industrial job because it is not a tenure position, I do not see any chance that CIS will prevail in AAO. The problem here is the discrepency between the job description on the website and that in the employment letter. If the same job position is said being a temportary one in the advisement and being a permanent one in the empoloyment letter, a CIS officer has the reason to raise a red flag. That is why I hope to know the job title. Generally, I believe that research associate or research scientist will fly in terms of permanent job position in most universities.
