EAD required for the use of Advanced Parole for H1B holder??

I am currently working with with H1, and my 485 is pending (my hu*****and's I140 was approved). My EAD and AP will expire this June. I plan to go back to China and come back with AP. I will apply for an AP, but not sure if EAD is necessary since I will certainly work with my H1 for one or two years. Any information on this? Thanks a lot!!
