My friend also told me that I should send the draft of a recommendation letter as an attachment to a Professor in my first E-mail to them for this recommendation letter. However, I think it is not nice so I asked them first whether I could write my own draft and it worked fine. I got most of letters in the end. I think you probably should ask their permission first.
