1. I prefer to keep the word "significant/strong".Your top journal publications justifies the wording. Ask the two big professors in your field for reference .
2. It will help, but you need to state the national significance of the nominee and fellowship.
3. If the journal bears a high impact factor and the conferences are in the national scope, the fact that you were invited, I believe, will help to demonstrate your national recognition and hence national impact.
