Please give me some opinion

My situation :

I'm pending on I485 .I holding H4 visa now.I also have EDA card ,but never use it for work,Because take care of my child at home. The EDA card expired at10/2005.The H4 visa will expire at 6/2006 .
Right now , the school lawyer ask me to renew the H4,Or have to extend
the EDA card for maintain a legal status in US.

My question is

1.Do I need to file for H4 status since the I-485 has not been approved.?

2. Should i have to extend my EDA card to maintain a legal status in US?

3. Because my EDA card expired,is it any problem for renew EDA card now?

Any suggestion will thankfulness.
