Help! H1b transfered, can i work in the old place for a while?

最近換工作，剛剛apply H1 transfer, starting from Feb. 10., 但有事不能按時過去。請問是否可以在原單位繼續工作一段時間（old h1 end at the end of 2006) or 必需去新工作處報到？
