You should include your child in your application. Otherwise how can you convince Immigration Officer about your intention to stay in Canada? If you don't want to include your child, you must write a statement and explain your reason why your child will not stay with you in Canada if your application is approved.

Someone also posted here that their visas were revoked when they landed due to this reason.
