My parents came in 2000 and stayed for one year. They
are in US now and I am applying for an extension. It is
still pending.

Another solution: If this time's extension were denied, my
parents would leave within required time. Since their visa
is valid in one year and with multiple entry, they plan to
go back for weeks and come back again. Hopefully they
will have 6 months again at the customs. The drawback
is that they might become too tired in the travel.

As for the warning from VO, you shall not take it
seriuosly since the extension is NOT handled by this VO.
The drawback might be that it is very hard for your
parents to get visa with this VO, if this VO still works in BJ
and unfortunately, process your parents' visa next time.
