Any H1B holder works on the second job with EAD card?

Has anybody with h1b status 485 pending worked on the second job using EAD card?
What your status could be?

The lawyers gave me different answers:
1. Your status are still H1b as long as you keep your original H1b employer when you filled your 485.
2. Or, you become AOS after use EAD on the second job.
