1. you have to use AP to come back. You don't have the option of applying for another J2 visa in China. Only H/L visa holders can choose to use either a valid H/L visa or AP to re-enter US after 485 filing.

2. I don't think your J2 visa is still valid after using 485-based EAD. Besides, if you use AP to go back to China, you'll probably lose your J2 status anyway.
