NIW approved, want to start up a company

My NIW has been approved, but 485 is still pending. Now I hope to start up a technology company to commercialize my research results. Now I am a researcher in a university, and holding a H-1 visa. Could anyone kindly help me to answer the following questions:

1. Do I need to apply for EAD for this purpose? or H-1 is OK? I will still stay as a full time researcher. The start-up will be only my second job although I will be the founder and owner of the company.

2. is there any negative effect on my 485 to apply for EAD?
