Biometrics after I-485 receipt

Hi all, I just received my I-485 case number. On the notice it says: "the next step is to have your biometrics taken at a USCIS ASC. Call customer service at 1800 3755283 to schedlue your appointment". Does it mean I can go ahead to schedule an appointment for fingerprint without receiving the FP request from USCIS? Do you have a similar situation and what have you done?
