It appears it is a little too late. You should still
continue with your GC process. Anything could happen with USCIS in the next year. You probably need
to use your brain power really hard in order to stay.
Certainly, we all pray for a speeding movement of the
cut-off-date, which allows you to do concurrent filing
of I-140 and I-485 (EB1 or EB2) before your H1B expires. Yet, we cannot really account on that. So
you need to prepare a few options. You may also
apply for a Canadian GC just in case.
