The child has to continue to try to come in H4, and should eventually succeed as long as your keep H1 status (It's common to get rejected once or twice because VO is punishing you for breaking your B visa promise, but they shouldn't do that more than a couple of times). After he arrives, monitor visa bulletin every month, and submit child's I-485 the first day when PD becomes current, because you want to file his I-485 BEFORE yours can be approved.
