Why can't you use AP since your I-485 petition is pending since 03? I suppose that you are currently on H4, right? Having a parent back home with surgery pending is all the more the reason to visit. A lot of people here with much more extenuating situation managed to go back visiting. You are in much better shape status wise.
One more question: do you work in any capacity?
