office told us that it is legal to keep the F1 status, and one can even extend his/her I20 since that does not go through the BCIS.But they are not sure about the OPT application.

In fact, if one can maintain F1 status while 485 is pending, why should the denial of 485 make a difference? I am just a little confused.
