Visa is only used to across the door of US. Once you get in, you are in certain status that stamped on I-94 card. For example, you came in with B2, you are in B2 status, came in as H1b, you are in H1b status. Status could be changed in certain conditions. If you get married and file immigration petition, you are in AOS (adjust of status) status, not any visa status.
