just my personal opion - i am a postdoc researcher i did not mention even a word in all my documents for i am also partly working for a local company, although the company is taking a DOE project - I just mentioned how important my postdoc research is for the NI. I also have some friends who have samilar backgrounds as yours and got NIW refjected by CIS. You need think of other solutions.
