not exactly, first, you don't have to use your EAD if your h-1b is still good even you have the card physically, second, you won't lose your h-1b either after using your AP, but I am not sure your EAD will be still valid after you returned to the US cause it says "not valid on re-entry" on the card, ask your lawyer.
