please help on this question

My I140 approved 2 weeks ago. Now I want to submit I 485 as soon as possible. However, my wife will have a business trip to China next week. My attonery said I should submit I 485 after my wife comes back, which will take another three weeks. Is my attonery right on this? or I can file I 485 even my wife is China and won't cause troble in her visa. Thanks
