Right needle localization biopsy short superior long lateral

Received fresh, labeled with the patient's name **** as "right needle localization biopsy, short superior,

long lateral" consists of a fragment of yellow lobulated adipose tissue measuring 4.8 cm from anterior to

posterior, 2.5 cm from medial to lateral, 1.0 cm from superior to inferior. On the anterior surface is an

ellipse of skin measuring 2.1 cm from medial to lateral x 0.5 cm from superior to inferior. There is a short

stitch which the surgeon has denoted as superior and a long stitch which the surgeon has denoted as

lateral and have been used in the orientation of the specimen. There is a needle coming out the anterior

lateral side of the ellipse of skin. The specimen is inked as follows: superior - blue, inferior - green, lateral

- yellow, medial - magenta, posterior - black. The specimen is serially sectioned and entirely submitted

from posterior to anterior in cassettes 1-8 with the posterior most section and the anterior most section

breadloafed. Submitted for microscopic examination.

Dr. Labib concurs the H&E appearances of blocks 1, 2, & 3 are benign.

Dr. Tran concurs the H&E & CK 5/6 appearances of block 1 are benign.

Immunohistochemical stains with good control.

Block 1.

CK AE1/AE3. No invasive lobular carcinoma

Block 1 & 2.

CK 5/6. Nearly all ducts are bounded by a positive basal layer.

Breast, right, needle localized partial mastectomy:

Microcalcifications.

Stromal fibrosis.

Sclerosing adenosis.
