使你產生情緒的不是你本人

It's your subconscious mind and the surrounding world, to which you respond, that cause you stress, tension, anxiety, thoughts, and emotions. But your subconscious mind is not your true self. Nor is the surrounding world. Your true self, therefore, is the belief that you are who you decide to be, and nothing else, not even your subconscious mind, can determine it for you. By insisting on being your true self, you do not respond to stimuli and disturbances from your subconscious mind as well as the world. For if you do, you are simultaneously at the mercy of them, and can no longer be your true self.

Consequently, your true self must be in infinite tranquility. From there, you observe your subconscious mind and the world with superior indifference. When confronted with your true self, all the perturbation caused by your subconscious mind and the world will gradually melt, disappear, vanish, subside by themselves, for they are powerless in front of your infinite tranquility, and can no longer serve the purpose.
