芹菜能降血壓的說法並非毫無根據,它其中確實有一些成分有降血壓的潛在功效。但這些有效成分也僅僅說明吃芹菜可能對降血壓有幫助,不等於吃芹菜能起到治療作用。而且芹菜汁,即便在不放鹽的情況下,鈉含量也比較高,100g的芹菜(莖)含0.4g鈉!
而過量攝入鈉會使得血壓升高,本身高血壓患者就應該少吃鹽,如果每天喝一大杯芹菜汁(相當於淡鹽水),血壓可能不僅沒有降下來,反而還會升高,到時候後悔就來不及了。
