Over the past 20 years, Intel (INTC) missed two major waves of computing and made a series of strategic errors. First, it lost out to Apple (AAPL) and Qualcomm (QCOM) in the rise of mobile. Then it fell behind Nvidia in the graphics processing units (GPUs) used for gaming and AI calculations. Along the way, Intel also lost a share of its core x86 chip architecture market to Advanced Micro Devices’ (AMD) better-performing chips.
