US authorities arrest niece, grandniece of Iran’s late General Soleimani: US State Department

US federal agents arrested the niece and grandniece of Iran’s late General Qassem Soleimani in the US on Friday, Reuters cites the US State Department as saying.

The two were arrested after US Secretary of State Marco Rubio ended their permanent residency status, according to the State Department.

“Hamideh Soleimani ?Afshar and her ?daughter are now in the custody of ?U.S. Immigration and ?Customs Enforcement,” ?the State Department said in a statement.
