Second of all, CCP needs strategic deterrence, not escalation. I hope one of the goals of this parade is to deter Putin and his nuclear threats towards China. I was hoping this show of force can help alleviate the external pressures for China. CCP needs to cool its heads now. I don’t think CCP should enter an arms race with USA.
CCP needs to focus on its own economy and political system reform, not to enter a war with USA! That’s what Putin wants I believe. He will try all kinds of tricks to destroy CCP by dragging CCP into Ukraine war, pushing CCP attacking Taiwan and now pushing an arms race or a war with USA? CCP needs to be vigilant against those temptations and to learn how to show deterrence without escalation. I have seen increasing calls for CCP to attack Taiwan by 2027 after the parade, which is very dangerous, especially when the progress towards peaceful reunification has been huge. I was also hoping CCP can learn from Taiwan on the good parts of its democratic practice.
