They couldn't find meaning of life

Some people live for their families and loved ones, they don't have families to love and be loved.

Some people have a project to finish, a book to write, a job that they love. They don't have that either.

They are being pushed to make more money, to survive, but not finding it meaningful. 

They ran to death because there's no hope, no love, and their sufferings have no end. 

It's the same as those people who ran to the electric wire in Nazi death camp to end their lives. 

Death is the only thing that's wide open for desperate people to choose. On the other end of the world, the real world, they can only see pain and darkness.  People have to live for at least one thing that makes them want to keep going. They didn't find it.
