Affordable healthcare isn't about people's urge to extend life, it is about not forcing people to chose between bankruptcy and death when they are ill.  Before Obama Care,  healthcare for people couldn't afford was a nightmare.  A surgery or a not-so-serious illness could bankrupt a family and send them to streets.
