Steps for submitting a media request

1. Read the guidelines. First, review the relevant support information on the Defence website, particularly the section for film and television requests, which includes general media visit procedures.
2. Submit an initial email. Send an outline of your request to [e-mail]. Your email should include:
   • Details of your media organization and your role.
   • The purpose of your visit.
   • The specific Defence personnel, equipment, or facility you wish to film or interview.
   • Proposed dates for the visit.
3. Complete a formal request form. After reviewing your initial email, Defence will advise if a more formal request form is required. If so, you will need to fill it out with as much detail as possible to assist with the evaluation process.
4. Await assessment. The department will assess your request based on operational requirements, security protocols, and other factors before approving or denying your visit.
5. Submit the signed form. If requested, complete and email the signed PDF form back to [e-mail].
