On its first transcontinental tour of the United States, the Philharmonic of Poland makes its debut performance in Orange County under the direction of conductor Boguslaw Dawidow. The orchestra has toured extensively abroad and, for almost 40 years, has annually appeared as resident Orchestra of the Opole Days of Oratorio Music Festival. In May 2000, the Philharmonic of Poland had the unique honor of being the only Polish orchestra to take part in the Gala Concert in Rome celebrating the 80th birthday of Pope John Paul II.
“Maestro Dawidow and the Polish Philharmonic offered great melodious lines, pathos and intense playing with great Slavic spirit.” — Wiener Zeitung (November 2009) .
