“Popularity” 與 “Reputation”

Popularity 是名詞，翻譯成人氣，名望，知名度，普及度比較合適。
Popular 是形容詞，可以形容人和物。 形容“人”時通俗說法就是人緣好，喜歡的人多， 相當於 high popularity。
Reputation 是名詞， 翻譯成名聲比較合適。
Reputable 是形容詞，可以形容人和物。表示名聲好，等同於 good reputation。

Popularity 與 Reputation 不是同義詞，但有關聯，關聯之處在於:  the more popular, the larger impact on the reputation。The extent of impact on one's reputation increases with popularity.

它們可以有下列的排列組合來描述個人的 social image 也可以折射一個社會群體的image：

1.    good reputation and popular
2.    bad reputation but popular
3.    good reputation but not popular 
4.    bad reputation and not popular

（在此 and 和 but的用法上有點微妙的區別）
