Here's your answer

I haven't been using modem for a long time, but you can find out how to change your modem's initialization string, most likely in "properties". (Right click first)

At the box for entering initialization string, enter something like "atl0m0" and whatever else you want the modem to do. For a complete set of modem command, see http://members.tripod.com/michaelgellis/modem.html.
