Both of you old PCs do not have any upgrade potentials because of their proprietary hardware. At best, you can reuse keyboard, mouse, floppy, CD-ROM, sound card, or very slow video card (if the sound and video cards are not onboard). So you best option is to buy either a new PC or many new parts (new CPU, motherboard, memory, video card, case, harddisk, DVD-ROM or DVD writer)
