Dell Inspiron 6000 around $800

Is this news about Dell saling system true? I just call Dell for Inspiron 6000 (Intel centrino mobile technology with intel pentium Mprocessor 725A (1.6GHz, 2MB L2 Cache, 400MHZ FSB)512 MB shared DDR2 SDRAM/40 GB hard drive/15.4"/fixed internal 24xCD Burner/DVD Combo Drive). the rep asked for $699+$19 handling fee+$74 tax. I am in Louisiana. Please put more comments.
