You are right!!!!!

Buy a wireless card (802.11 b or g, u***** or pci or pc card). after install the wireless card you will see all the neighbor's open connections, then just try to connect. If you did not see any open connection then you can not connect. But try it in different time.
and also try to move your computer to different location.
