Too many files in one dir

I had similar problem before. I copied all of my photos from hard drive to CD. I found that if I try to use the same CDRW drive to read it, I always got some problem. I then used my DVD ROM to copy them back to my hard drive. I found that if I just copy not too many (aroun 50) files to one dirctory, there is no problem.
