there are USB and modem plug in on my laptop? During my vocation, I use a remote harddriver, which might be the possibility.

I have contact pcworld. They told me there is no problem with my network card, since I could connect another pc through crossover cable. However, a doctor of my school test my laptop and told me there is some problem with my network card.

As you know, it usually do the connection by normal LAN cable, but my laptop could only use the crossover cable now. Unfortunately, there is no restore point before my holiday. Therefore, I have to ask for help,

Could you please give me any idea to make sure whether there is problem with my hardware or software? my laptop is within 1 year warrentee. Thanks a lot.
