病毒？？？？

Recently my home PC was attached by virus. Now it seems OK. However, when I connect Internet using modem, the small icon at right lower connershows there is sending and receiving bytes even there no internet tasks (and after a period of time). Just wonder if there is any potential internet link or virus. Any suggestion?
