samsung galaxy note 2 on android 4.4.2. verizon

it had been working flawlessly until about 1.5 weeks ago.  thought it might be a result of an unknown update of maps.  removed the update no cure. installed the update again still the same.  i am at the wit end...  thanks for your help.
