Will a backup-restore make my laptop faster?

My DELL laptop Windows 7 used to be fast. After a few years, it's getting slower and slower. Even Chrome can't load up a page a lot of times.

Will a backup-restore make my laptop faster? Or only a totaly system restore will make it fast?
