hdmi to dvi cable question, help please!

acer r3700 has one hdmi interface, try to connect minotor with DVI interface to hdmi interface y hdmi-to-dvi cable. before i purchase the hdmi-to-dvi cable, i want to know did it will work? thanks a lot!
