Jailbreak iPod Touch 的麻煩

I have iPod Touch Generation 4, updated to iOs 5.0.1. following Youtube's instruction video to jailbreak using RedsnOw. Everything went well and Cydia was installed. but everytime I want to do a search on Cydia, it crashes. So I tried to erase everything and restore to manufacturer's original setting, but the iPod just keep spinning and spinning and never do anything else. What can I do? Is the iPod Touch dead?
